Arc-Flash Hazard

Our goal shall be to provide safe and healthy working conditions for all in the workplace and its beyond. Among all the hazards present in the work area, fire and explosion due to arc-flash is a significant one. Control and Mitigation of arc-flash and identification of hazardous area shall be one of our major focus areas. The entire curriculum has been designed keeping this goal in mind. As a result, this Technical Workshop starts with the understanding these arc-flash Hazards & Risks in low, medium and high voltage installations and followed by Hazard Area Classification for installing Electrical Equipment, Instruments and wiring in the Hazardous Area.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this program, the participant will be able to understand the -

• risks of arc flash in low, medium and high voltage installations
• requirements to perform the arc flash hazard analysis, which is used to determine the incident energy of a potential arc flash and establish the arc flash boundary
• principles of safety precautions and arc flash accident prevention while dealing with electrical systems and flammable materials

The course will be helpful to the Plant & Factory Managers, Engineers, Safety Professionals, Project Engineers, and Process persons engaged in Petro-chemicals, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Fertilizer, Power Plant, Process Industries, Mining, Manufacturing & Engineering and/or any other large/medium industry handling flammable materials and electrical systems. The program will be useful even to the Planning, Design, Erection & Project Engineers engaged in Complex Work Sites.
